The contest was run winter of 2005 I received entries from around the world,
by vintage (pre 1970) camera users using all types of cameras. It's amazing the
creativity that is shown and the information that can be passed along. I think
we were all winners in this contest but we do have a few stand outs. I left the
pictures in order and placed the names next to the images along with ribbons.

4) "The Short Days" |
We live in Rauenhahn,
Germany a very small village in Westerwald (the "Western Forest") on a
plateau on the right side of the Rhine
some 40km south of Bonn and 130km north of Frankfurt. It is an area of
gently rolling hills and woods
#4,5,6 Ezio Bonsignore |

Taken at dusk during a walk in the
woods, about one hour from home.
Super Ikonta III with Tessar 75mm
1:2,8, Agfa RSX-II 100 ASA, 1/15 at f=4, hand-held. |

5) "Cold Evening" |
The photos were all
taken with slide film and scanned with a flatbed scanner.
Ezio Bonsignore |

Shot directly over my garden's fence
as ice fog was setting in.
Nikon FTn, Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4,
Kodak Ektakrome Elite II 100 ASA, 1/30 at f:5,6, tripod and cable release. |

Voigtlδnder
Prominent, Ultron 50mm 1:2, Kodak Ektakrome Elite II 100 ASA, 1/125 F=4????
Shot some 500m from home.
Exposure data are estimated,
because these particular light conditions only lasted for a couple of
minutes before the clouds covered the setting sun and I was bracketing like
a crazy (I invested nearly an entire roll in this photo) |

7) "Apple Tree and Tractor" |
Matthew Currie Benson, VT |

Leica IIIb, in
this case sporting a Rodenstock Heligon 35/2.8 lens from about 1951 and a
Tewa Polyfocus finder. The film was suitably expired TriX, rated at 400 and
developed at a local lab and scanned by me on a Coolscan IV. The outdoor
shot was done at about F11. It's what I see from my back door. |

9) "Silo" |
I live in a small
farming community in central Michigan. The grain elevator is
the most prominent business in our village.
This is the most un-cluttered part of the structure I could find. I like the
way the rust on the silo adds a certain texture to the scene.

Lake
Ontario in the "Beaches" district of Toronto, Ontario two weeks ago. I guess
the parks and rec department decided to leave the 'no lifequard on duty'
sign just in case some crazy canucks decided to go for a dip in Lake Ontario
in mid February...

I've been tempted to sell it, whenever I take it out to use, I'm reminded of
why it will never be sold... it's still a pleasure to use... |

This is, or at least was
the main mill in my village near Manchester UK. Now it has been split up

it's down adjacent to the river and the canal. Shoot with yellow Coken held

"Trees in the distance" |
Where I
live is in the photo, but not the house in the foreground! Mine is in the
trees in the distance. This is the only other house within about a mile of
mine. This house was probably built around 110 years ago, but nobody has
lived in it for at least 50 or 60 years. The man who built and first lived
in it was the son of the man who built and first lived in my house.
