Polarizing Filter
Best known as an accessory for darkening a pale blue sky,
is not a colored filter and is equally useful with black and white and color. By
blocking randomly polarized light that bounces off water droplets and particles
in the air, this filter produces richer skies. The effect is greatest when the
camera is pointed at an area 90degrees away from the sun. This filter also
reduces or eliminates glare on reflective surfaces- especially glass, water, wet
foliage, and painted surfaces. As a result, colors are richer and more subject
detail is revealed.
